An exciting new phase of life begins

HAIGER, August 2022 – On 15 August the new apprenticeship year started at CLOOS: The company rich in traditional embraced eleven new apprentices and warmly welcomed them to the start of their careers. At its headquarters in Haiger, CLOOS offers training in a total of eight different professions. This year, two prospective electronics technicians for industrial engineering, two industrial management assistants, one industrial mechanic, four mechatronics technicians, one technical product designer and one cutting machine operator are among the new trainees.

On their first day, the management welcomed the new apprentices together with the personnel and training management as well as the works council and the youth and trainees’ representation "An exciting new phase of your lives begins today," said CEO Stephan Pittner. "During your training, you will get to know different areas in the company and come into contact with a wide variety of high-tech products. We wish you lots of fun and success!"

During the introductory week, a varied program awaited the new trainees: First, there was general information about starting a career at CLOOS. They also got to know the company divisions and contact persons during a tour of the company. A highlight of the introductory week was the team event on the Lahn river, where the trainees were able to demonstrate both their craftsmanship and their ability to work in a team while building a raft together. They were also sporty during the joint hike through the local forests. The joint barbecue with all the trainees rounded off the introductory week. Here, the career starters could get to know each other better across courses and professions.

"An apprenticeship in our high-tech company offers a solid foundation for a successful professional future," emphasises Andreas Schmelzer, head of industrial-technical training. "In the first few weeks, we lay the foundation for this." After the introductory week, the basic metallurgical courses then start for all new trainees in the CLOOS training workshop. Afterwards, they go through different departments to prepare them optimally for their professional life.

"We want to challenge and support the young people on their way in the best possible manner," says Dunja Fiedler, head of commercial training. "That's why, for example, we also offer factory classes for our commercial trainees, where they can learn together and deepen topics.”

In addition, the concept of Lehre Plus (TrainingPlus) offers young people with an intermediate secondary education to obtain their entrance qualification for a university parallel to the vocation training. In addition, CLOOS focuses on the combination of university and practical experience and offers the Studium Plus programme together with the Technical University of Central Hesse (THM).

The application process for an apprenticeship in 2023 is already ongoing. Interested young people can find more information about the trainees and their professions as well as videos about the possible professions here:
