10th CLOOS Welding Symposium 5th March 2015

Focus productivity: Cost reduction by means of modern welding processes and intelligent automation

Know-how, innovations and a high quality standard are the key to success in global competition. In the increasing requirements for the production, the joining process is of particular significance. Investment in state-of-the-art robot welding systems enables the companies to significantly accelerate their production processes and to improve the quality at the same time. "We would like to make our customers faster, more economic and more efficient with our products and solutions", explained Markus Grob, Chairman of the Managing Board.

Subjects of the Symposium

Christian Landau, Manager Sales Automation, and Jan Pitzer, Product manager processes and sensors, presented solutions made by Cloos to increase the efficiency in modern production. Harald Riedinger, Director Technology & Innovation at Terex Cranes reported from the practice. The leading innovator in the crane field uses Cloos welding machines for the manual welding of crane parts. Dr. Jobst Bickendorf, Managing Director of AUTOCAM GmbH, presented solutions for automated offline programming which considerably increase the efficiency of robot applications.

Practice and information all around welding

Practical demonstrations in the CLOOS application centre rounded the welding symposium: They demonstrated different solutions for the optimisation of efficiency, productivity and quality in future welding technology. During many live demonstrations the visitors experienced modern welding and production processes such as Tandem Weld and Cold Weld. Other highlights were the software and sensor solutions which improve the performance of welding machines and systems.

The symposium was enframed by an exhibition of business partners and the CLOOS trainees: The companies Kemper, Demmeler and Servo Robot showed new and proven welding accessories. The stands of the CLOOS trainees in cooperation with the (Technical University of Mittelhessen) and Messrs. WeldPlus with the SOLDAMATIC virtual welding simulator.
