Schmitz-Cargobull increases production numbers
In order to considerably cut the cycle times in the manufacturing of subassemblies, Schmitz Cargobull has integrated two complex robotic welding lines into the production process in cooperation with CLOOS. Thanks to the flexible manufacturing structure, standard platforms can be delivered within a few hours after the receipt of an order. Barely three quarters of a year passed between the planning and the commissioning of the two modern production lines. “Everything went very smoothly”, the project managers at Schmitz Cargobull commented with praise.
Robot programming increases productivity
The additional application of the offline programming system ROBO-PLAN
prevents the occurrence of downtimes of the welding robots during the
programming operation. In this way, the maximum productivity of the system can
be utilised. The welding programs were created in co-production by employees
of Schmitz Cargobull and CLOOS experts. On large screens, the operator is able
to gather information about the current status of the systems and the
production progress and to recognise potential faults immediately. The persons
in charge at Schmitz-Cargobull summarised it as follows: “In collaborating with
CLOOS, we highly appreciate their expertise in the areas of welding technology,
robotics and positioning technology.”
